Aniimo PS5 Guide: Server Setup, Packs, and PS4 Limits
Aniimo on PlayStation 5: launch status, automatic server assignment by PSN region, pre-order packs, PS4 support, Remote Play, and trophy sharing.
Aniimo's PlayStation 5 version is free to play and works like the PC client with a few console-specific rules layered on top. The most important of those rules is server assignment, because on PS5 you do not pick your server: it is derived from your PSN account's registered region.
This page covers what the PS5 version includes, how server assignment works, what the store says about online play, and the PS4 situation.
Aniimo on PS5 at a Glance
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Price | Free |
| Platforms | PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro |
| PlayStation 4 | Not supported |
| Online play | Required |
| Online players | 4 |
| In-game purchases | Optional |
| Remote Play | Supported |
| Storage | 30–35 GB, internal SSD only |
The store listing is explicit that online play is required, so Aniimo is not a title you can play offline. It also lists 4 online players, which matches the co-op party size described on other storefronts.
Aniimo's official FAQ confirms that the PS5 client can only be installed on the console's internal SSD, so expandable storage is not an option for the game files themselves.
Server Assignment Is Automatic on PS5
This is the single PS5-specific rule worth understanding before you spend money or link accounts.
Your server on PlayStation 5 is assigned based on your PSN account's registered region, and Aniimo does not support cross-server progress sharing. The official support table lists which countries map to which server:
| Server | PlayStation account countries and regions |
|---|---|
| Aniimo-America | Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States, Uruguay |
| Aniimo-Europe | Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom |
| Aniimo-APAC | Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan Region, Thailand |
Before linking, confirm that your existing character's server on PC or mobile matches your PSN account's server. If they do not match, the account link will not merge them, and the official guidance is to contact PlayStation Support or Aniimo customer support rather than guess.
Account Linking Has a One-Time Window
The linking prompt appears only the first time a PSN account that has never played Aniimo logs in. If you skip it, that PSN account registers a new Aniimo Pass and can no longer be linked to an existing one.
If you have beta-test rewards, use the email from those tests. The official notice recommends entering the email manually and requesting a verification code rather than using a third-party sign-in option.
Pre-Order and Store Packs
Two console pre-order packs were sold ahead of launch:
| Pack | Price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Edition | $9.9 | Exclusive in-game accessory plus the in-game Premium Pass |
| Collector's Edition | $19.99 | Exclusive in-game accessory plus the in-game Collector's Pass |
Two details from the official FAQ matter to PS5 buyers. The Fluffy Friend accessory is PlayStation-exclusive, and no PlayStation Plus subscription is required to purchase or claim pre-order packs.
Pack contents are delivered to the in-game mailbox of the first character created on the console account that bought them, so claim them on the platform you purchased on. After account linking, claimed accessories can be used on other platforms within the same server.
Trophies, Controllers, and Remote Play
Aniimo supports PS5 controllers and includes an achievement and trophy system. After account linking, trophy progress is shared across linked platforms within the same server.
Remote Play is supported according to the store listing, and PS5 and PlayStation Portal cloud streaming works only with a Premium subscription. That gives PS5 players a route to play away from the console without the mobile client.
The store also lists an accessibility feature and optional in-game purchases, so the paid layer on PS5 is the same cosmetic and convenience layer as elsewhere rather than a separate requirement.
Player Ratings on the PlayStation Store
The PS5 listing shows an average rating of 4.28 out of 5 from roughly 1,746 ratings, with 74% of those being five-star ratings.
That is a noticeably warmer picture than the Steam review summary for the same launch window, which is a reminder that platform audiences rate the same free-to-play launch differently. Neither number tells you whether the game suits you; both are worth a look before installing.
